About Rosewood Goldens
Rosewood started as a Warmblood Breeding, Off the Track Thoroughbred Rescue, and Equine Boarding facility. Customers and visitors to the facility continuously commented on our family's Purebred Golden Retriever "Abby". Often suggesting that if we ever bred her, they would love a chance to have a puppy from one of her litters.
In 2005, Abby convinced us she would be a good mom by carrying around the barn kittens, fostering them, and babysitting our oldest child too (lol). We had such a wonderful time raising the puppies and meeting all of the new customers, that we decided to sell all of our horses and changed our focus to exclusively breeding Purebred Golden Retrievers. Over the years, we have used our experience in researching bloodlines for high end warmblood breeding, to find the best bloodlines for breeding our Purebred Golden Retrievers. This has resulted in many years of successful breeding, and almost all of our sales since have been a result of "word of mouth". We love our location, and so do our dogs. Our 27 acre property in Clear Lake, WI is home to a pond that we often take the dogs for a swim in. They have rabbits and squirrels to chase, room to run and play, and plenty of opportunity to dig some holes. Our dogs uniquely live in packs, much like their natural predecessors. They are also housed in indoor/outdoor kennels which allow them to come and go as they please, and are free fed with the highest quality foods. The kennels are heated and air conditioned for the best comfort of our dogs. We grew up with Golden Retrievers! Each of our childhood goldens made us love the breed at a young age. We sew those same experiences into our kids by rotating each dog into the house to keep them trained with manners. (Unfortunately, we can't keep 15 dogs in the house all at once, lol). We are a busy and adventurous Christian family of 8! Matt and Tam Elsmore, Jordan (17), Aiden (15), Lili (12), Ali (10), Max (8), and Gia (6). With everyone 's help, our parents get a lot of exercise and walks, and your puppies get a lot of attention, play time, and good socialization. Our kids tend to play with the puppies like they are Barbies daily, and they give each puppy a name at about 4 weeks old. They also help us learn the puppies' personalities to help match them to your family on pick up day. WE LOOK FORWARD TO MEETING YOUR FAMILY SOON TOO!! |
